Highland Pest Control in February 2026

Highland Pest Control provides competitive and qualified Pest Control to Inverness and the surrounding areas

The colder months are generally quieter for Pest Control Companies but there are always customers with immediate issues, and they are varied. This is a list of some of the work carried out in February.

Moles

There has been a lot of Mole activity over the last Month with call outs reporting hills appearing in lovely lawns and we have been really busy laying traps.

Cluster Flies

These are quite common in the UK and because they live for a couple of years, we have a problem with them hibernating in homes in the Autumn and coming out of Hibernation in the Spring. They are generally found in Skylights and window frames on the sunny side of the house with rooms closer to the roof. The window frames need to ne treated with insecticide and sometimes we need to fog the loft area where they inhabit.

Bedbugs

Bedbugs can be found all year around and are usually brought back from holidays ,they are a difficult pest to remove and can make a home uninhabitable, the removal of some furniture and a mixture of steam and Insecticide and other chemicals is the best solution.

Rodents

Rats and Mice are still a common problem in the area the cold weather tends to be a reason for rodents to invade homes, a mixture of Traps and Rodenticide with some recommendations in relation to structural issues is the solution.

Bird Spikes

Placing bird spikes on properties to deny birds nesting over doors and windows before the springtime brings the breeding birds.
